Bargello or not Bargello?

This past August, our Quilt Guild got together and took a class to learn the technique (and get a pattern) on making a Bargello quilt.
Unfortunately,  my grandsons were here for the month and I could not attend. But they did get me the pattern.  Right now I do not have the time  (Holidays as all) Soooo, I decided to make this small one.
It is called "Fruit Cocktail"  (designer, Jennifer Amor)

First was to make 4 units,

Being a Bargello, each strip was  different size.  They ranged from 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch.  Making them
identical was more difficult than I thought it was going to be.  But, I did it.
Next was to turn the edges down and place on my background.

After they were where I wanted and sewn on, I made all my boarders.  I carefully outlined each petal and did a stipple stitch in the black boarder.

Total size is:  28" X  28"

Now, back to Christmas, got lots of things I want to make.

HAPPY QUILTING EVERYONE!

Beautiful wall hanging!! I would never have the patience to hand sew those pieces on, but wow, what a great quilt!

What a scrumptious fruit cocktail. Nicely done.

That is gorgeous and I've never seen a bargello like that before. So unusual - I've only ever seen bargello designs where the pattern goes from one side to the other - with maybe a few curves/waves in it. Well done! Lynne.
