I was also busy while this hop was on its way, with company and a fun Sunflower project. This is one you can make in a day.
I drew the design and figured out the size that I wanted to make it.
(It was going to be for my daughter-in-law so kept her table in mind.)
Then I picked the fabric out that I wanted to make my Sunflowers and leaves.
Then I got white and light printed Batik fabric and cut 17 2 1/2 inch squares out of each
and my triangles for the edges and corners.
Next I sewn one plain to one printed square together:
After all the squares were together. I started putting them all together in rows.
I set them diagonally and added the triangle on each end:
When they were all together I added my Sunflowers.
I put two on each end and left the center plain for her centerpiece.
I added a 1 inch orangish, boarder and a 3 inch Sunflower printed boarder.
Then quilted it by machine going around the flowers, then in the ditch of all the blocks and boarder
Next came a brownish binding that matched the center of the Sunflowers in the boarder.
Then drew lines in the sunflowers to accent the petals.
Total size is: 16" X 16 1/2"
Table toppers, along with placemats, mug rugs, etc. They are such great afternoon projets.
(by the way...it looks good on her table!)

After that great hop I needed something to get back on track again. I have quite a few projects that I want to finish and even start. But, before I do, I went to Random.org and got a winner to my giveaway I had posted earlier.
And the Winner is: L J
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I will be contacting you shortly to verify your winnings.
Check this out and don't forget: NEXT hop is going to be "Wicked"
Starts October 22nd. I know that seems like a long time from now.
But actually it will be here before you know it.
I am whipping up something "Wickedly" fun. Hope to see you there.
HAPPY QUILTING EVERYONE!
