So, today is my day and I want to show you my block. I drew three Ghosts stacking up Pumpkins.
After my previous paper pieced block...This was a piece of cake! I once again dug into my scraps (one of my favorite things to do. Course I have so much) I was in high search for the right shades of orange for the pumpkin and wanted green to look like grass and blue to look like the dark sky.
I used Lite Steam-a-Seam II and cut out all my pieces and sewed my grass and sky together.
Next I arranged them onto my block where I thought they looked good. I pressed them in place then machine appliqued them on using the blanket stitch. Then squared my block to a 10 1/2" square.
Unfortunately I have so many things going at this time, I did not yet figure out what I am going to do with it. I am leaning toward making a pillow. Or add it to the one I made before, the paper pieced ghost. Or, make a small wall hanging with it. What do you think?
I do want to share my Wall hanging I made earlier. I call it "Come On In". This one is 22 " X 33 1/2" . I have it hung on my entry door.
Here is another that I made last year. Everyone who knows me, knows I like to be different and have fun. "Trick Or Treat" Total size is 36" X 17".
Now that you seen my block, I want to ask you to continue on this Wicket Hop and check out all the others that posted today. Here is the list:
Sew Me Something Good
But don't stop there. Check out Wendy's blog and get the list for each day to visit everyone's post and see their blocks. I heard there are some pretty Wicked ones coming. Believe me, you will not want to miss a one!!
Oh, now I have something Wicked to GIVEAWAY. Oh yeah, I have this pack of 26 - 5 inch charms. There are colored leaves, acorns, etc. all in different cool fall colors.
Oh yeah, this is the assorted Fall Charm pack called "Maple Skies" from Connecting Threads.
All you have to do is be a follower and leave me a comment. Tell me, what are YOU doing this Halloween? Are you getting dressed up, if so, what is your costume going to be? On October 31st, I will go to Random.com and pick a winner which I will immediately announce that day. Have I got a great Halloween story to tell you........
Till then,
HAPPY QUILTING EVERYONE

Your block is bootiful! I think I would make pillows from this one and the other ghost block. There are hardly any kids in our neighborhood, so we will be joining some friends for a wicked brew. I won't be in costume but I do have my halloween jacket and candycorn earrings.
ReplyDeleteLove all your Halloween pretties. Thanks for the giveaway. I don't get Trick or Treaters, so I will just be watching the TV. Maybe the granddaughter will come by.
ReplyDeleteLove your haunted house block!

ReplyDeleteOn Halloween, first the little grandnieces' will stop and show us their costumes before going to their event. We are located in a rural area with dirt roads, so kids come by vehicle. It's like a local relay race from house-to-house. My brother calls and says that so-and-so is leaving his house and on their way to ours. So we are ready and waiting with nice big bags of candy.
Well done. You are sew creative. Love all the projects you showed.
ReplyDeleteI am working in the grocery store on Hallowe'en. I will be going as a witch. ( yes-it's a costume!)
I think I'm going to have to collect all these "Boo" blocks and do a whole quilt of Boo's. Great Job!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your boo block but my favourite is the haunted house with the ghostly welcome. What a great give away. I am following your blog to enter.

ReplyDeleteWe are having a Halloween party for our kids and some friends. We will be dressing up. I would love to make a tablerunner.
ReplyDeleteI'll be passing out candy from my great orange bowl!
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks. I've missed most of the blog hop (other than my own post) because my FIL had bypass surgery on Monday, and we went to TX to be with him. I'm headed back on Halloween, but, I'll get to spend Halloween evening with my oldest son at his college. He's wearing a purple leisure suit that day. He's so cute in it. Gotta find another leisure suit for the other son. He wants one, too.
ReplyDeleteI'll be trick or treating with my sons in town. Not sure what I'll be yet. Last night we did Trunk or Treat at the Drive-in movies before watching Hotel Transylvania and I was quite a scary vampire. A couple kids were afraid to approach me. Hee hee hee!
ReplyDeleteOh, wonderful blocks, Jane. The stacked ghosts are so cute.
ReplyDeleteLove the stacked pumpkins! Perfect block for Halloween!!
ReplyDeleteI love all your ghosts & pumpkins! I'll be taking my kids trick-or-treating. I don't dress-up, but I'm just about done sewing a tea bag costume for 1 boy and doing the loops on a belt for my other boy's police costume. :)
